Responsibilities

The IT Project Group Manager is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/ geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. This role will be reporting to the TPM Head for Investments for Global Wealth Management as the IT Project Senior Group Manager, Senior Vice President.

    • Be the strategic partner and advisor to the Business and Technology heads for Wealth Management for Banking and Lending domains & products. Ensuring well laid out roadmaps and execution plans for book of work
    • Responsible for management and execution of operating model routines
    • Ambassadors the improvements in business processes, system processes in line with company standards.
  • Obsessed about building and shipping great products for our customers with excellence
    • You obsess over customers and always work backwards from them to earn and keep their trust. Manage from the front, prioritize, and drive the bigger mission forward by translating vision into results.

    • As a Manager of managers, you lead by influence and set the vision for a bar raising TPM function. Manage, mentor, and grow the TPM leaders of the future.
    • Building and leading a team of TPM’s that are highly passionate, motivated and smart problem solvers to design future state products and technology solutions.
    • Your teams have a deep understanding of the platform, integration patterns, organizational capabilities, and the company wide assets that can be leveraged to provide rich customer experiences while building technical solutions.
    • Demonstrate an ability to structure an organization and optimize it for execution, including attracting top tier talent and filing out gaps in the existing team quickly to accommodate growth.
    • Partner with fellow TPM leaders to ensure alignment and standardization in ways of working
  • Be a change agent. Drive agility, excellence and simplification in ways of working
    • Measure and improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes that are working well and build the next level of improvements, set standards for deployments at scale, infrastructure reliability, security, and scalability.
    • Demonstrate an ability to identify and act upon unique insights and apply them to solve unmet needs and an expertise leveraging/synthesizing competitor, emerging technology, and other marketplace trends to draw out implications to support the team’s overall mission and goals

    • Continue to improve the engineering culture across all tech functions.

    • Responsible for communicating business strategy and goals and how they align to the team’s work
    • Provide transparent frequent updates, manage sponsor expectations, and keep all stakeholders informed on Book of Work progress. Creating a culture of transparency and trust

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all technology components of the development and implementation of major/multiple/highly complex projects; may manage enterprise wide projects.
  • Develops detailed IT work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
  • Provides IT strategic direction for projects managed.
  • Sets guidelines for appropriate staffing requirements to meet operational needs.
  • Impacts the IT project leadership function by strategic influence and by exercising control over resources, budget management and planning; accountable for end results.
  • Evaluates subordinates’ performance and makes decisions on pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues that have impact beyond own area.
  • Ensures essential procedures are followed and contributes to defining standards.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how IT project leadership integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.
  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources.
  • Influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions); may communicate with external parties.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in a managing major programs, complex projects with commensurate people management experience in Investments and Wealth Domain.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
