Instrument Asset Integrity Manager

Position Location: Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA

 

We are currently recruiting for a Instrument Asset Integrity Manager.  This position reports to the Senior Manager, Asset and Integrity Reliability Services and is on-site at the Sasol Lake Charles Chemical Complex. Full  Relocation Package avaiable for qualified candidates.

Purpose of Job

Evaluates, develops, and manages the Instrument regulatory compliance and reliability improvement processes for the operating entities across the site. Works closely with the unit, maintenance, & technology managers to define improvement opportunities and maximize the safety and reliability of the plant instrumented systems.  In addition, works with the other discipline peers to deliver a results-oriented Reliability Centered Culture.

Key Accountabilities 

The efficient and effective delivery of Instrument Reliability and Regulatory Compliance thru:

  • Providing Subject Matter Expertise, either personally or via resources within their control, with direct support to Maintenance and Operations in driving unit reliability and operational availability.

 

  • Creating, implementing, and managing fundamental reliability work processes to include program development, training effected personnel, and compliance auditing.

 

  • Maximizing reliability while minimizing the life cycle costs for instrument assets to include Incident Investigations, PM/PdM strategies, spare parts evaluations, and defect elimination.

 

  • Ensuring Key Performance Indicators are in place, current, and used to make decisions.

 

  • Specific Responsibilities:
    • Directly supervise Instrument Engineers and Specialists to include coaching, training, and mentoring.
    • Develop and adhere to the Instrument Reliability budget.
    • Develop Yearly Bad Actor Equipment Lists and implement reliability strategies to increase MTBF and eliminate repeat failures.
    • Develop and Maintain the Instrument Reliability Mechanical Integrity and serve as a Site SME on OSHA        PSM Regulatory Compliance for Instrumented Systems.

Formal Education

  • Bachelor Science,  Electrical Engineering from an accredited university – required
  • Certified Reliability Professional (CRL) – preferred

 

Working Experience

  • 9+ years of practical Instrumentation Engineering experience in a PSM covered process facility
  • 5 years’ experience in a Supervisory or Management Role
  • SME in application, maintenance and reliability for a multitude of Instrument Technologies

Required Personal and Professional Skills 

  • Sound knowledge of applicable codes and standards to include OSHA PSM Regulations
  • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Management style must include values driven leadership, data driven decision making, cultural sensitivity, business acumen, professional demeanor, and unquestionable integrity.
